  • Overview




    The person in this position works independently and with other facility personnel to perform preventative, predictive and routine maintenance tasks. This person will troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness. All task will be performed while supporting the policies, goals and objectives of the company.


    • Responsible for the completion of all assigned maintenance service request.
    • Maintain inventory controls for cost effective operations.
    • Inspect HVAC systems and their components for the purpose of evaluating condition, identifying necessary repairs and recommending preventive maintenance.
    • Coordinate special projects as directed by the Maintenance Superintendent.
    • Monitor and maintain all building systems as assigned.
    • Complete ground work as directed by Maintenance Superintendent which may include picking up trash, sweeping curb and dumpster areas and maintaining landscaping beds and other areas.
    • Responsible for alerting the Maintenance Superintendent of any unusual occurrence and/or damage that have taken place or that may occur.
    • Maintain a professional and courteous manner with all contractors and fellow employees.
    • Assure safety standards are used which comply with all company, local, and Federal guidelines.
    • Ensure compliance of all work related activities in a fair, ethical, and consistent manner.
    • Other duties as assigned.


    • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
    • One to five years of verifiable hands-on general maintenance experience (i.e., plumbing, electrical, carpeting, painting, etc.) is preferred with proficiency in at least one major area.
    • Must be able to read and interpret documents and drawings.
    • Ability to write detailed repair reports as well as good verbal communication.
    • Must be willing to work out of doors in all weather conditions.
    • Valid TWIC Card is required.


    • Candidates must be able to work long hours and all shift schedules that may require up to twelve hours a day, seven days a week for extended durations.
    • Candidates also must be able to work in confined spaces and be capable of climbing ladders, scaffolds, and working at heights.
    • Must be able to perform work wearing personal protective equipment including but not limited to rain gear, chemical protective clothing, supplied air and air purifying respirators, safety harness, FRC coveralls, hard hat, ear plugs and safety glasses, etc.
    • Respiratory Protection Fit-Testing and Pulmonary Function Testing is required.       Additional medical examinations, such as Fitness for Duty exams may be required per client guidelines.
    • Hearing and vision within normal ranges is helpful.
    • Candidates must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs or more, unassisted with the use of proper equipment.
    • Good manual dexterity for the use of common hand tools, power tools and the ability to navigate around obstacles in a petrochemical environment is necessary.

    Applicants selected will be subject to a background check. The successful applicant will be required to pass a pre-employment, drug and alcohol testing and job-appropriate medical testing.
