    JOB SUMMARY:

    The person in this role will be mainly responsible for a variety of tasks related to permitting and pre/post job walk-throughs within the facility. Perform inspections of completed work and serve as a point of contact for other employees when they need to report problems. Ensure that the work performed is done in a safe manner and that it complies with company policies and applicable industry standards.

    Responsibilities

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Maintain a high profile in the promotion of safe working conditions and practices so as to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and contractors. Show leadership in Safe Act Observations, Safety Meetings & Job Hazard Analysis.
    • Responsible for identifying and resolving reliability issues, and for assessing the potential impact on production, plant and equipment.
    • Coordinate with other departments to ensure completion of work orders, preventive maintenance, and proactive identification of equipment reliability issues.
    • Schedule predictive and preventive maintenance tasks according to priorities, skills, and parts availability.
    • Monitor and assess work performance, promote motivation and growth through regular interaction.
    • Monitor the operating costs and ensure that spending is controlled and allocated correctly.
    • Conduct workplace area inspections both within areas of responsibility and across other areas.
    • Review drawings and other data relative to operations, including P&IDs and PFDs in preparation for MOC’s as well as for start up of systems.
    • Review ongoing planning activities with the aim of continuously improving equipment availability and reliability as per MOC.
    • Develop, write, and edit material to establish proper procedures associated with the operation, maintenance, and/or administration of machinery, processes, systems or facilities.
    • Responsible for the issuance of work permits.
    • Responsible for job walk-through.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    ​​REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Minimum of ten (10) years of Operations industrial experience, preferred.
    • Associates degree in a technical discipline or equivalent years of technical work or training content experience, preferred.
    • Previous technical experience in the oil & gas, petro-chemical or process industries, preferred.
    • Experience analyzing and writing permits, preferred.
    • Knowledge of PSM and MOC processes.
    • Must have understanding of mechanical and instrument equipment and their maintenance, mechanical integrity, and the inspection process.
    • Must be able to work long hours and all shift schedules that may require up to twelve hours a day, seven days a week for extended durations.
    • Safety and terminal procedure writing experience, a plus.
    • Excellent PC as well as communication skills (oral/written) required.
    • Must be a self-starter.
    • Valid TWIC card and driver’s license required.

     PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Candidates must be able to work long hours and all shift schedules that may require up to twelve hours a day, seven days a week, for extended durations.
    • Candidates also must be able to work in confined spaces and be capable of climbing ladders, scaffolds, and working at heights, push and pull items, reach overhead, stoop and squat.
    • Must be able to perform work wearing personal protective equipment including but not limited to rain gear, chemical protective clothing, supplied air and air purifying respirators, safety harness, FRC coveralls, hard hat, ear plugs and safety glasses, etc.
    • Respiratory Protection Fit-Testing and Pulmonary Function Testing is required.  Additional medical examinations, such as Fitness for Duty exams may be required per client guidelines.
    • Maintain mental capacity, which permits quickly making sound decisions and using good judgment, and demonstrating intellectual capabilities.
    • Hearing and vision within normal ranges is helpful.
    • Candidates must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., unassisted.

    Applicants selected will be subject to a background check. The successful applicant will be required to pass a pre-employment, drug and alcohol testing and job-appropriate medical testing.
