    JOB SUMMARY:

    Candidate will be responsible for “assisting” with installing new machines or heavy equipment, dismantling and installing machines or heavy equipment when changes are required.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist in interpreting blueprints or other specifications using a variety of hand tools and rigging.
    • Assist in dismantling machines, using hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other hand tools.
    • Assist in moving machinery and equipment, using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
    • Assist in repair and lubricate machines and equipment.
    • Assist in performing installation and maintenance work as part of team of skilled trades workers.
    • Assist in other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent, vocational training/college preferred.
    • Minimum of 3 years related experience.
    • Non-NCCER Certified, preferred.
    • Must be able to communicate with supervisors and fellow employees.
    • Must have troubleshooting skills to help supervision determine solutions to job site problems.
    • Must be familiar with Company, Client, and Federal safety/health procedures and will demonstrate support of them by compliance.
    • Must be able to work night shift including day shift (all shifts) as well as holidays and weekends.
    • Must follow set procedures and standards.
    • Ability to recognize and report safety hazards.
    • Valid TWIC card required.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Candidates must be able to work long hours and all shift schedules that may require up to twelve hours a day, seven days a week for extended durations.
    • Candidates also must be able to work in confined spaces and be capable of climbing ladders, scaffolds, and working at heights.
    • Must be able to perform work wearing personal protective equipment including but not limited to rain gear, chemical protective clothing, supplied air and air purifying respirators, safety harness, FRC coveralls, hard hat, ear plugs and safety glasses, etc.
    • Respiratory Protection Fit-Testing and Pulmonary Function Testing is required. Additional medical examinations, such as Fitness for Duty exams may be required per client guidelines.
    • Hearing and vision within normal ranges is helpful.
    • Candidates must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, unassisted.
    • Good manual dexterity for the use of common hand tools, power tools and the ability to navigate around obstacles in a petrochemical environment is necessary.

    Applicants selected will be subject to a background check. The successful applicant will be required to pass a pre-employment, drug and alcohol testing and job-specific medical testing.
