    JOB SUMMARY:

     

    The person in this position provide the guidelines and technical details of the product or structure that is being built. They may work with engineers, architects and other professionals in producing plans and drawings. The AutoCAD Operator will create and revise drawings in all design disciplines. Assist with document and records management efforts, including migrating electronic data from network drives to Livelink, which is the electronic document management system.

    Responsibilities

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Draft and revise civil, architectural, electrical, instrument and piping drawings to support project/program activites.Use computer assisted design/drafting equipment and software to develop designs.
    • Create and revise production drawings (detail and assembly drawings).
    • Utilize knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings.
    • Draft detailed multiview drawings of machine and products.
    • Provide CAD and plotting support for staff.
    • Assist employees and contractors with locating information in Livelink system.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • High school diploma.
    • Minimum of two (2) years technical degree or equivalent education and is preferred.
    • Minimum of 10 years CAD experience in an industrial facility preferred using Mircostation V& or above, and/or AutoCAD 2010 or above.
    • Familiaity with computer applications including MS Word, Outlook, Excel, Access and Adobe Acrobat.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
    • Ability to write routine reports, operating instructions and correspondence.
    • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
    • Self-motivated and able to motivate others to work together to accomplish task.
    • Effective written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Valid driver’s license.
    • TWIC is required.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to sit, perform repetitive physical and mental activities.
    • The employee must occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, climb stairs and ladders, push and pull items, reach overhead, stoop and squat. Ability to frequently utilize necessary personal protective equipment.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
