    JOB SUMMARY:

     

    This position is responsible for providing physical security services in accordance with established security regulations of Limetree Bay Terminals, LLC. The person in this role will work at fixed guardhouses, clock alleys, and patrols premises assigned to in a motor vehicle or on foot. The Security Guard reports to the Security Shift Lead, maintains logs, writes reports, investigates incidents and traffic accidents, directs vehicle and pedestrian traffic, responds to calls for assistance, enforces existing policies, procedures, and rules, and provides security protection to the assigned establishment, its employees, its assets, visitors and residents.

    Responsibilities

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Conducts daily patrols of assigned premises and surrounding residential areas on foot or in a motor vehicle and notes any irregularities. Takes appropriate action as needed.
    • Controls access to the premises at all the entrance/exit gates. Controls access to restricted areas of the assigned premises. Screens and searches pedestrians, vehicles, and equipment that enters and departs the assigned premises.
    • Responds to a variety of security related incidents and assists with access control and/or evacuations (if required) during emergencies (oil spills, and hazardous materials (HAZMAT) incidents).
    • Ensures consistent enforcement of company rules, policies, and procedures and adheres to same company rules, policies, and procedures.
    • Conducts investigations into a variety of incidents, which may include criminal acts, traffic accidents, and safety related matters. Incidents may be referred to Federal and Territorial agencies, depending on the nature of the incident. Writes reports on these incidents.
    • Respond to calls for assistance and/or service for security related matters around the assigned premises and the residential areas.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • High School Diploma or GED.
    • Excellent written, verbal, and communication skills.
    • Ability to perform multiple tasks.
    • Possession of a valid U.S. Virgin Islands driver’s license.
    • Ability to work under stressful situations, adverse conditions, and meet deadlines.
    • Must be able to work all shifts as well as holidays and weekends.
    • Ability to respond to the facility on short notice for shift coverage and emergencies, if needed.
    • Prior law enforcement, military or industrial security experience is preferred.
    • Three to five years security experience in petrol chemical or other industrial industry preferred.
    • TWIC card required.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Candidates must be able to work long hours and all shift schedules that may require up to twelve hours a day, seven days a week for extended durations.
    • Must be able to perform work wearing personal protective equipment including but not limited to rain gear, chemical protective clothing, safety harness, FRC coveralls, hard hat, ear plugs and safety glasses, etc.
    • Respiratory Protection Fit-Testing and Pulmonary Function Testing is required. Additional medical examinations, such as Fitness for Duty exams may be required per client guidelines.
    • Hearing and vision within normal ranges is helpful.
    • Candidates must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, unassisted.

    Applicants selected will be subject to a background check. The successful applicant will be required to pass a pre-employment, drug and alcohol testing and job-appropriate medical testing.
