JOB SUMMARY:

 

This position is responsible for providing physical security services in accordance with established security regulations of our client.  Works at fixed guardhouses, clock alleys, and patrols premises assigned in a motor vehicle or on foot. The Security Guard reports directly to the Field Supervisor, maintains logs, writes reports, investigates incidents and traffic accidents, directs vehicle and pedestrian traffic, responds to calls for assistance, enforces existing policies, procedures, and rules, and provides security protection to the assigned establishment, its employees, its assets, and residents.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts daily patrols of assigned premises and surrounding residential areas on foot or in a motor vehicle and notes any irregularities.  Takes appropriate action as needed.
  • Controls access to the premises at all the entrance/exit gates.
  • Controls access to restricted areas of the assigned premises.
  • Screens and searches pedestrians, vehicles, and equipment that enters the assigned premises.
  • Responds to a variety of security related incidents and assists with access control and/or evacuations (if required) during emergencies, oil spills, and hazardous materials (HAZMAT) incidents.
  • Ensures consistent enforcement of company rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Adheres to company rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Conducts investigations into a variety of incidents, which may include criminal acts, traffic accidents, and safety related matters. Incidents may be referred to Federal and Territorial agencies, depending on the nature of the incident.
  • Writes reports on these incidents.Responds to calls for assistance and/or service for security related matters around the assigned premises and the residential areas.

 

Qualifications

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Must be able to work holidays, evenings, Saturdays, and Sundays.High School Diploma or GED.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and communication skills.Ability to perform multiple tasks.
  • Possession of a valid U.S. Virgin Islands driver’s license.
  • Ability to work under stressful situations, adverse conditions, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to respond to the workplace on short notice for shift coverage and emergencies.
  • Prior law enforcement, military or industrial security experience is preferred.
  • Three years security experience in petro chemical industry preferred.
  • TWIC card required.
