This position is responsible for but not limited to coordinating of the Pinnacle Security Operations. This is a senior-level security officer position responsible for overall security and protection of the Limetree Bay Terminal facility, its personnel, assets and residents. This position will perform shift duties including roving patrols of Limetree Bay Terminals properties and consistently enforce existing policies, procedures, and rules. Position requires additional and advanced training, skills, and qualifications in specific areas of investigations, interview techniques, training, facility Security compliance. Oversee the daily operations of the Pinnacle Security Guards.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily patrols of the Limetree Bay Terminals and surrounding residential areas on foot or in a motor vehicle and notes any irregularities. Take appropriate action as needed.
  • Control access to the Limetree Bay Terminals at all entrance/exit gates and restricted areas designated within the Limetree Bay Terminals.
  • Screen, search, and direct pedestrians, vehicles, and equipment that enter/exit the Limetree Bay Terminals in accordance with existing policies and procedures.
  • Respond to a variety of security related incidents and assists with access control and/or evacuations (if required) during emergencies, oil spills, and hazardous materials (HAZMAT) incidents.
  • Perform shift work at assigned locations, fixed guardhouses, clock alleys, etc., including the Lobby and Command Center.
  • Conduct monthly Security training with all Security Officers.
  • Report to the Facility on short notice for shift coverage and if needed.
  • Ensure consistent enforcement of and adheres to Limetree Bay Terminals rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Respond to calls for assistance and/or service for security related matters around the Limetree Bay Terminals and the residential areas.
  • Conduct daily security inspections of the guardhouses, gates, fences, security equipment, security vehicles and reports deficiencies in writing to the Security Superintendent. Daily visitations at the guard post must be logged in the entry book or be noted.
  • Intervene and take action to preserve life and property in the Limetree Bay Terminals Facility.
  • Lead and prosecute public safety missions including use and calibration of Radar Gun to enforce speed limits on and around Limetree Bay Terminals and placement of automated speed trailer to deter violations.
  • Operate the Security Management System (SMS) at pedestrian gates, clock alleys, and vehicle entrances to include credential verification, alarm acknowledgement, emergency notifications, visitor processing, and manual operation of physical barrier systems.
  • Maintain log and write reports. These reports must be completed at the end of every shift and will be standard with root cause analysis.
  • Conduct full inquiries and investigations into a variety of reported incidents, including but not limited to criminal acts, traffic accidents and infractions, other matters of public safety, and company matters. Detail findings, prepare written reports and makes recommendations to prevent recurrence or resolve the matter. Coach and mentor subordinate officers in investigation techniques, evidence collection, and proper interview procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Industrial Security/Military or Law Enforcement.
  • Teamwork; group & organizational skills; and ability to handle multiple task.
  • Excellent written, verbal and communication skills.
  • Prior leadership skills are required.
  • Must be able to work with management to solve any conflicts with direct reports.
  • Must be knowledgeable of the daily Security operations at Limetree Bay Terminals.
  • Must be able to make shift schedule on a weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly basis.
  • Understand contents of and posses the ability to implement requirements of Facility Security Plan during heightened levels of Maritime Security (MARSEC).
  • Proficient in and operation of computers including software programs such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Power Point and Excel.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks and time management.
  • Ability to understand, interpret and apply laws, policies, procedures and rules as they pertain to Limetree Bay Terminals.
  • Ability to pass a background investigation and be free from any criminal convictions.
  • Ability to work under stressful situations, adverse conditions, inclement weather and meet deadlines.
  • Must posses a valid U.S. Virgin Islands driver’s license.
  • Must qualify for and obtain a valid Transportation Worker Identification Cerdential (TWIC).

REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Maintain qualification for and conduct Declaration of Security (DOS) examinations on vessels entering the Limetree Bay Terminals as directed.
  • Must posses a valid TWIC.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Candidates must be able to climb steps, stand for extended periods and possess sufficient strength and stamina required to prosecute security related duties.
  • Must be able to work shifts, holidays, evenings, Saturdays, Sundays and overtime as needed.
  • Must be able to perform work wearing personal protective equipment including but not limited to rain gear, chemical protective clothing, safety harness, FRC coveralls, hard hat, ear plugs and safety glasses, etc.
  • Respiratory Protection Fit-Testing and Pulmonary Function Testing is required. Additional medical examinations, such as Fitness for Duty exams may be required per client guidelines.
  • Hearing and vision within normal ranges is helpful.
  • Candidates must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, unassisted.

Applicants selected will be subject to a background check. The successful applicant will be required to pass a pre-employment, drug and alcohol testing and job-appropriate medical testing.
