The person in this role will provide physical security services in accordance with established security regulations of our client.  They perform duties at fixed guardhouses, clock alleys, and patrol the assigned premises in a motor vehicle or on foot. The Security Guard reports directly to the security shift lead.   They maintain logs, write reports, investigate incidents and traffic accidents, direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic, respond to calls for assistance, enforce existing policies, procedures, and rules, and provide security protection to the assigned establishment, its employees, assets, and residents.


  • Conduct daily patrols of assigned premises and surrounding residential areas on foot or in a motor vehicle and note any irregularities.  Take appropriate action as needed.
  • Control access to the premises at all the entrance/exit gates.
  • Control access to restricted areas of the assigned premises.
  • Screen and search pedestrians, vehicles, and equipment that enters the assigned premises.
  • Respond to a variety of security related incidents and assists with access control and/or evacuations (if required) during emergencies, oil spills, and hazardous materials (HAZMAT) incidents.
  • Ensure consistent enforcement of company rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Adhere to company rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct investigations into a variety of incidents, which may include criminal acts, traffic accidents, and safety related matters. Incidents may be referred to Federal and Territorial agencies, depending on the nature and severity of the incident.
  • Write reports on these incidents, responds to calls for assistance and/or service for security related matters around the assigned premises, and the residential areas.




  • Must be able to work holidays, evenings, Saturdays, and Sundays. High School Diploma or GED.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and communication skills. Ability to perform multiple tasks.
  • Possession of a valid U.S. Virgin Islands driver’s license.
  • Ability to work under stressful situations, adverse conditions, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to respond to the workplace on short notice for shift coverage and emergencies.
  • Prior law enforcement, military, or industrial security experience is preferred.
  • Three years security experience in an industrial environment preferred.
  • TWIC card required.
